New Faith Hill hit stores today, Vinnie along with Matt Chamberlin and Toss Panos on drums. Vinnie is on the majority of it with Toss on 1 track and Matt on 2. The single (cry) features Vinnie.

The cd is enhanced and so there's a video you can watch on your computer. It has some cool studio footage with some brief glimpses of Vinnie from behind. Pretty cool.

The drummer was Trey Gray, who also plays with Jewel. He has been FH's drummer for the past 11 years. I wonder why she didn't use him on the album or TV special? Greg Mathieson is in her band and that may have been how VC got the call...

Drumaddict - almost w/out exception [except for maybe Paul Leim], the Nashville political system, the way it has evolved up to now, dictates that its "A-List" session players [on all the contemp. country "stars'" studio albums] almost never are the players that are used in the road bands. Up until recent yrs. this drum list has mainly consisted of Paul Leim, Eddie Bayers, Lonnie Wilson, Steve Turner, Greg Morrow, & Milton Sledge. I heard it said somewhere that "a lot of these studio stalwarts that have commanded all the 1st-call studio work up til now must be quakin' in their [cowboy?] boots now that Vinnie has showed up on their turf".... he is an anomaly - the guy can go straight into the studio & burn the charts down right there, johnny-on-the-spot, sight unseen [not that they're THAT complex - but they are musical & pocket/timing-oriented, for this genre], & STILL take some of the road gigs of his choosing as well [because he's so friggin unreel, & his rep precedes him, as we all know....]

Chris McHugh has been taking many session calls lately as is Matt Chamberlin. Things are definetly changing Nashville. Choosing the drummer for the project is all on the producer, Dann Huff loves Vinnie. Used him on the first SheDaisy cd.
When Carlos Vega was alive he was getting quite a few calls to go and record in Nashville, he appeared on many discs by Vince Gill and Reba.
